In the Bible, faith usually leads us through the difficulty, not around it. It was Jesus who sent His disciples and Himself into the storm. He knew full well what they were walking into and He sent them anyway. For those stormy moments in life, remember, maybe God has you there for a reason... Maybe there's a purpose for your pain that you can't see. Just because the wind is against you doesn't mean God is against you.

The name of God, "I Am Who I Am", is the name of hope. That name is the answer to a thousand weaknesses and insecurities that we all face all the time. Whatever you are not, "I Am". Whatever you need, "I Am". Whatever you did not receive from your parents, whatever you're not receiving from your marriage, whatever you're not getting from anybody, "I Am." So when life reminds you of everything that you're not, remember the name of God who says, "I Am."

When you become a Christian, Jesus doesn't just deal with your history. He also empowers your future, giving you this power called resurrection power in Romans 6, or Romans 8 calls it more simply the Holy Spirit. You have that power... The same power that created the world and ordered the stars and parted the Red Sea and healed lepers and put life back into the lifeless body of Jesus… Through the power of God in us, there is nothing God can’t fix, sanctify, calm, heal, overcome, resurrect. We are forever made new because we have… resurrection power!
