On the road to the cross, the crowds laid down their coats in palm branches in the streets to honor their king

For many of them would not receive him on the road to the cross, the disciples were given a new and final command to love each other just as Jesus had loved them
On the road to the cross, Jesus became like a servant and washed the feet of those who would later betray, deny, and abandon him
On the road to the cross, Jesus was taken into custody, falsely accused, wrongly sentenced, and unjustly condemned on the road to the cross
Jesus would not only carry his own cross, but also carry the sin and shame of all humanity
For all of history, the road to the cross for Jesus was the road to death
But for us, the road to the cross is the road to life
