God, today we pause to give thanks… for the gift of work And for the gift of rest From the very beginning, you called us to cultivate the earth — to build, to plant, to shape, and to serve
Work is meant to be a calling
A way to honor God’s design and and to bless one another
So today we also want to thank you for every kind of work… And for the faithful workers all around us
For those who work with their hands— building, repairing, lifting, and growing
For those who work with their minds— teaching, designing, analyzing, and solving
For those who work with their hearts— caring for the sick, guiding the young, and strengthening the hurting
For those who work long hours… For those whose work is unseen… and for those whose work often goes unnoticed
Lord, we thank you for all of them

But we also remember that work in this world is not easy
Some are exhausted
Some feel overlooked
Some are searching for work
Some carry uncertainty about the future
God, as we rest this Labor Day weekend, restore our bodies, renew our minds, and remind us… that our ultimate identity is not found in what we produce, but in who we belong to

This Labor Day, thank God for the work he has called us to - to build, to plant, to shape, and to serve. Thank Him for the hands, minds, and hearts we use to honor His design and bless one another. As we take a moment to rest, ask God to restore and renew our bodies and minds for the work ahead of us, and to remind us that our identity is not found in what we produce, but who we belong to.
