There are signs and symbols of God in life all around us
The heavens declare the glory of God
The skies proclaim the work of His hands
Yes, and every setting sun is a reminder of the beauty and majesty and artistry of God
And every rising sun, a reminder of God’s new and faithful mercy every morning
Every crashing wave on every ocean shore, a reminder of God’s grace that washes over all of us who call upon the name of Jesus
Every flash of lightning and every crack of thunder, a forceful reminder of the speed and power of God
Every skyscraping, snow-capped mountain, a monument of the bigness, the greatness, and the immutability of God
Every creek-carved canyon, a reminder of what God can do, that he can change an entire ecosystem with a steady drip of water
And a reminder to all of us that we can make a big difference with a little obedience for a long time
Every towering tree reaching up for the heavens, a reminder of what we were made for: to reach up to God too
Every falling leaf, a reminder of the necessary endings in life and every budding flower, a reminder of new seasons, new beginnings, new opportunities, and a reminder that life is precious and short and so don’t waste it
Every passing year another lap around our little star called the sun, another reminder of God’s providence, His constancy in His sustaining grace
