They stood for the weary, they stood for the weak,
They stood when the hopeless had no voice to speak
They marched into battle, though much would be lost…
They carried our freedom and bore every cost…
They whispered their prayers in the still of the night,
Hearts filled with courage, yet longing for light…
They wrote home with hope, though their fate yet unknown,
Some never returned — but they never stood alone…
Through storm and through fire, through dusk and through dawn,
They marched for our freedom, though some marched on
Their battle is over, and yet still they speak…
In the hallowed ground, and in memories deep
The flags wave above them, the trumpets still play…
No words are enough, and no tribute can say
The depth of their love, the price that they gave…
The cost of their lives, the freedom they paved…
So today as we gather, let’s bow and let’s pray…
For the families who grieve, for the lives swept away…
And let’s live with a purpose, let’s love with resolve…
For because they have fallen, we must stand tall…
For every home… where laughter rings…
For every church… where freedom sings…
For every right… they dared to defend…
We owe it all to them… our valiant friends…
